Bronze threaded deck plate

9420/BR/50/08

€50.25

This solid bronze threaded mounting base allows a removable fairlead, eye bolt or pad eye to be fitted to the deck and taken off without removing the base. Its central tapped socket accepts a compatible fitting, allowing deck hardware to be adapted to different manoeuvres or mooring needs.

The circular plate is secured with three screws, while the threaded socket extends below deck. Installation requires a suitable opening for the recessed body. Once the fitting is removed, only the plate remains visible.

Available in M8, M10 and M12, this base is suited to modular installations on classic boats. Thread size and the strength of the mounting surface must be appropriate for the expected loads.

Frequently asked questions

1. Which fixings should I use to install this mounting base?
- Depending on the mounting surface, you can use wood screws or machine screws with matching nuts and washers for through-bolted installation. The diameter and strength of the fixings must be suitable for the fitting and expected loads.

Please note: on wooden boats, moisture and salt water can promote electrochemical reactions involving metal fittings and timber, potentially causing deterioration of the wood around the fixings.

We recommend using compatible marine-grade fixings, avoiding combinations of dissimilar metals wherever possible, and ensuring the installation is properly sealed.
2. Is this mounting base available in other finishes?
- This bronze mounting base is not available in other finishes.
3. Can this mounting base be made to measure?
- This bronze mounting base cannot be made to measure.

Good to know

This mounting base for removable deck fittings is handcrafted using century-old moulds, which may result in slight variations in the bronze. These characteristics give each piece its own distinctive character and authenticity.

Solid bronze offers excellent resistance to weathering and marine conditions, helping preserve the quality and integrity of the material over time.
